Community Development

Our Community Development Programme

The purpose of our Community Development Programme is “to increase communities capacity to meet their basic needs, and plan and manage their own development in a just, sustainable way which can be adapted and passed on through neighboring communities.”

To do so, Afghan facilitators and expatriate consultants work with groups of remote communities over the span of several years.

The first step towards accomplishing these goals is building relationships with partner communities. Next, it is important to develop an understanding of their capacities and needs. Then the community development is facilitated through guidance, training, and co-operative projects involving IAM, government services and others with relevant expertise.
