On 31 August 2025, a devastating 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan’s remote Kunar province, killing over 2,200 people and injuring more than 3,600 others.
Over 8,000 homes have been destroyed with entire villages reduced to rubble in mountainous areas with virtually no road access. Additional earthquakes and landslides continue hampering rescue efforts.
IAM is responding through partnerships to provide critical humanitarian aid including food and non-food items and mental health psychosocial support (MHPSS). With humanitarian funding collapsed from $3.8 billion to just $767 million since 2022 and winter approaching, your immediate support is crucial to reach families who have lost everything.
