Donate Storage Space (for free!)

At no cost to you, you can donate storage space to IAM

You might be able to help us if you have a Windows or Apple computer and you don’t already use Dropbox. (*If you already have dropbox click here)

IAM makes use of Dropbox for storing some of our files.  In fact, we recommend it as a tool for sharing files between anyone in the world with a computer.  Our IT manager has been heard to say, “if I had to design a way to move files from earth to a spacecraft I’d use Dropbox.  Dropbox works even over very poor internet connections.”

You can give 500Mb additional dropbox space to someone in IAM who needs it.  Using the links below to trial Dropbox for free you will help us.  There is no time limit on the free Dropbox account.  If you like it, keep using it, and if you don’t like it you can remove it.

What to do

To help us out there are just two steps:

  1. Setup a new dropbox account using this link – Dropbox will give you 2Gb of cloud storage which you can use to share pictures, files, etc. with family or friends.
  2. Install the dropbox software on your computer (use this link if dropbox don’t give it to you when you setup the account) and connect it to your dropbox account.  This will allow you to update files in your cloud storage just by accessing the dropbox folder directly on your computer.

After doing both steps, Dropbox will upgrade your account from 2Gb to 2.5Gb of space, and they will donate 0.5Gb of extra space to someone in IAM who needs it.

Thanks for helping us!

* Note: if you currently use dropbox and have the dropbox software installed on your computer you will be unable to help us in this way.  This opportunity is only available to people who do not use dropbox already.
