Eyesight Restored: A NOOR Success Story

Meet Zamarod, the daughter of Abdul Ghani. She lives with her disabled son and is 55 years old. She has suffered a lot of problems with the sight in both of her eyes in recent years.

Zamarod thought that her problems with eyesight were due to her age. However, poverty and lack of access to a proper hospital had also contributed to the problem; she was unable to have her eyesight assessed or have issues treated.

As she aged, she was developing cataract problems. The head of her community found out about the problems of this poor woman. He sought financial support from village to help her. He collected money from the people of the community and sent the woman to Kabul for treatment.

After arriving in Kabul, Zamarod visited Noor Eye hospital. The doctors in the hospital conducted a primary investigation to find the cause of her eye problems, and considering her poor condition, the hospital offered her free treatment. After diagnosing cataracts, they offered to operate on one of her eyes to get her eyesight back. Now treatment is done and her eyesight is restored! She is very thankful to the doctors and management of NOOR Eye hospital.
