This July, at 65 years old, a woman came to the hospital with cataracts on both eyes; she only had finger-counting vision. This is her story.
Before her vision declined, this woman worked in the second-hand bazaar in front of the Blue Mosque, selling dresses and goods to people in order to survive. She also helped her only son who works and earns 300 AFs daily.
Because of cataracts in both eyes, which resulted in poor eyesight, she was not able to continue working in the second-hand bazaar. We gave a discount for her cataract surgery and she said, “I will continue to my work after I get my vision back.”
