Meet Ali, who was told his poor vision was not treatable.
Ali came with his father to one of our NOOR Eye Clinics. There, his father explained that Ali had poor vision since his birth and was not able to see anything. He had asked many people, but everyone said his son was not treatable. After listening to his advice, he didn’t take him anywhere for treatment. When he turned 18, some new friends advised Ali’s father to take him to Kabul, but despite this, again he didn’t go.
Then recently, one of their relatives had a successful eye surgery at the same NOOR Eye Clinic. This relative’s husband advised Ali to go there, because his wife was cured of her eye disease.
Ali’s father finally decided to sell some of his sheep to raise the money for travel to the Eye Clinic and his son’s treatment there. There, the doctor told him that he had cataracts and needed surgery.
Thanks to NOOR’s policy for needy people, Ali received a discount on the cost of his operation, after which he received his sight and is now able to see perfectly. He loves to tell everyone he meets how happy he is to be a healthy person. Ali and his father both give special thanks to all Dashte Barchi Eye Clinic staff. Now both Ali and his father, along with their family, want to share this story with everyone they meet, especially those who think they are without hope.
