Standard Operating Environment (SOE) version
This software
library is provided by IAMtech as an easy way to obtain software that is
specified as IAM's Standard Operating Environment (SOE) in the IAM ICT
Technology Roadmap. The IAM ICT Technology Roadmap shows where we are coming
from, where we are now, and where we are going to in relation to Information
and Communications Technology. This is a living document and will grow over
time as new needs are identified in IAM and as solutions for those needs are
found. The
current roadmap can be viewed here.
This software
library is provided using Dropbox. What this means is that when you click on a
link that says "Get from IAM" it will take
you to a page giving you a choice of "download" or "save to my dropbox".
(Note: this picture will only display if you have a
working internet connection)
If you
download it directly you might as well choose to download it directly from the
original source location because it will not work any better to download from
IAM, but if you save to your dropbox it will be
copied into the top level of your dropbox folder
immediately and then synchronised to the dropbox
folder on your computer as soon as it can (depending on the size and on your
internet connection this may take a few minutes to a few hours before it
arrives). Because it is using dropbox sync it is much
more reliable than a normal download as it won't break the download if it gets
interrupted by a bad internet connection.
We will
always try to keep the latest version in the software library so we suggest you
delete it from your dropbox as soon as you have
installed it - this will stop it from wasting your dropbox
space. If you really must keep it then
please move it from your dropbox to a folder
somewhere else on your computer so it doesn’t waste
your dropbox space.
Software is
listed in four categories - optional, required, role required, and IAMtech
staff.
· The required
software will be pre-installed on all IAMtech installed Windows 10 computers.
· The optional
software is only installed if you need it.
Sometimes you may not think you need it at the time the computer is
installed but you may later decide you need it, and for that reason you have
come here to get it.
· The role
required software will be installed on all Windows 10 computers where the role
of the user requires it. Sometimes the
role of a person changes, in that case they can come here to get the software.
· The IAMtech
staff software will not normally be installed.
These are specialist tools that very few other people would need,
however, from time to time there may be others in the organisation that need
them, therefore they are also made available here.

SyncTrayzor is a little tray utility for Syncthing on Windows. It hosts and wraps Syncthing, making it behave more like a native Windows

IAMtech
does not support iOS devices so we do not maintain a software library for
it. We do recommend the free Sophos
Mobile Security for iOS (as we also recommend the Android version) to protect
you from Malware.
The SOE
will change over time as new software is released and old software is dropped from
the list as it is no longer being maintained by the author or it no longer
meets IAM needs. Because of this we will
maintain an SOE version number to track when new software was introduced to the
SOE, or when software was removed from the SOE.
It is important
to maintain a version number primarily because of the required software that
must be pre-installed on computers. The
goal of this will be to enable us to easily identify and update computers that
do not have the current SOE software set.
The SOE
version number will be incremented in two parts:
· When an
application is REMOVED from the required applications in the SOE, it will
result in a major version change eg. 1.0 becomes 2.0
· When an application
is ADDED to the required applications in the SOE, it will result in a minor
version change eg. 1.0 becomes 1.1
Note that
only changes in the required applications will affect the version number. Changes in optional applications or role
required applications will not affect the version number, but when new software
is added to these categories they will take the
version number that is current at the time they are added.
