If you have been given an IAM email account we recommend you use an offline email client to read your messages. We have documentation available for the following mail clients:
- for Thunderbird http://iam-afghanistan.org/it/setup-iam-email-in-thunderbird/
- for Outlook http://iam-afghanistan.org/it/setup-iam-email-in-outlook/
- for Mac Mail http://iam-afghanistan.org/it/iam-email-setup-in-mac-osx/
If you have multiple IAM email addresses (eg. one that is based on your name and another that relates specifically to your role in IAM) it is sensible to set up your mail client so that you can send messages from all of those addresses. Use these instructions: http://iam-afghanistan.org/it/sending-email-with-different-identities/
Sometimes you may need to access your email from another computer (maybe your computer is being repaired and unavailable). We do not recommend doing this from an internet cafe. Here’s how to use webmail http://iam-afghanistan.org/it/iam-webmail/
Some people insist on reading all their email via gmail online or outlook.com/hotmail.com websites, we do not recommend this for a number of reasons. If you absolutely must use your email in this way here are the instructions for how to download your IAM email to these clients:

- for outlook.com/hotmail.com http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/pop-email
