Provincial Ophthalmic Care (POC)

The Provincial Ophthalmic Care project, an outreach of NOOR Eye Care Programme, provides and is responsible for offering eye care services and training to under-served areas.  Day clinics were run on a weekly basis into under-served areas of Kabul and neighbouring Parwan provinces.  These clinics are run by ophthalmic technicians and they provide basic treatments and procedures at these locations; complicated cases are referred to the NOOR eye hospital in Kabul.  12, 510 patients were seen at these locations.  In addition to its own work, POC provided an ophthalmologist to see patients and perform operations for another NGO in Parwan province on a weekly basis.
